Glenn Beck's Christmas Story

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to go to Beck's show at Kingsbury Hall up at the U. I really didn't know what to expect as I hadn't paid too much attention to the advertising.

Let me just say that the show was fantastic! Beck was funny, articulate, informative and inspiring. I really can't believe that he was wearing a velvet suit, though. If you have ever had one on, you definitely do not want to get hot in it.

Beck went through various aspects of what people think Christmas is all about; Shopping, Snow, Family, etc. He had shared numerous stories about his own family and their nuances. I must say, Beck sure lived in a 'nutty' house growing up, especially with his step-mother and her quacky antics. (She cut part of a new sofa off because it got in the way of her laying on the couch watching TV. Don't bother to move the TV or couch!)

He then went on to describe the meaning of Christmas to him; which is Redemption. He shared a powerful testimony of his thoughts on the Savior. He focused his comments on the death of Jesus Christ and what that meant to the world.

After this presentation, he went and changed into jeans and a shirt. Beck then proceeded to share his conversion story to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's an interesting and moving story, one that he should put into a small book. I know others would draw strength and determination from the efforts he went through in denying what was before him.

The whole stage show was full of colorful lighting, music and a nice ambiance. I highly recommend attendance if the chance arises!

Thanks Glenn Beck!
